New Halloween Products

Digital Masks
Last year, the company Morph Costumes took Halloween into uncharted territory with their Digital Dudz line, unveiling a series of t-shirts that used the power of smart phones to create the most high-tech costumes we've ever seen. This year, the same technology has been utilized for a handful of Halloween masks, which come equipped with special compartments that your phone can be slid into. Once an included app is uploaded, the phone allows for the masks to literally come to life, animating things like maggots in a clown's mouth and a brain in a zombie's head. We have seen the future of Halloween, and it is called Digital Dudz.

2-in-1 Freddy Krueger Mask
Legendary costume company Rubie's also got pretty creative this year, giving both Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger brand spankin' new 2-in-1 Halloween masks. It's the Freddy mask that's most impressive, paying tribute to the scene in the original Nightmare on Elm Street where the dream demon rips his face clean off, revealing a skull underneath. It's admittedly not the best looking Freddy mask on the market, but it's a pretty cool idea, and a fun way to celebrate the film's 30th birthday. After all, how many masks provide you the joy of ripping your own face off?

Cotton Candy Cocoon
As in past years, an entire Top 10 post could quite frankly be written about the 2014 output from Trick or Treat Studios, a company that has fast become the leading purveyor of badass - and affordable - Halloween masks. This year's masks allow you to be characters from Evil Dead 2 , Nightbreed and Day of the Dead , and they've also unloaded a handful of incredibly awesome decorations. Coolest of all is this 'Cotton Candy Cocoon,' a stunning replica of a memorable prop seen in Killer Klowns from Outer Space . Actually, they've got two different cocoons available, one a Deluxe Edition (pictured) and the other a more affordable version. The coolest decoration of 2014, without question.
4
Halloween 2 Pumpkin
Speaking of Trick or Treat Studios, they also made a replica of the pumpkin seen in Halloween 2 's opening title sequence this year, though it unfortunately doesn't split open to reveal a human skull inside - as it does in the film. But that's okay, because a company called Gerson picked up where they left off. Though this decoration isn't officially licensed, and though the product description makes no mention of Halloween 2 , I think it's pretty obvious where they got their inspiration from. With a flickering tea-light inside, this 10.8" resin 'Double Pumpkin' is a MUST for all fans of the only Halloween 2 that matters.
5
The Strain Mask
The horror community was pretty divided on FX's vampire series The Strain, and I found it to be an entertaining and enjoyable way to kill some time before The Walking Dead came back. One of the highlights of the show was lead villain The Master, a mega-sized uber vampire who looks like a giant rubbery Halloween decoration - in the very best of ways. The Master gets his very own Halloween mask in this Spirit Halloween exclusive, which makes for a cheap, easy and totally awesome costume. All you need is a long black robe with a hood and voila, you're The Master. Impossibly long tongue not included.
6
Inflatable Pennywise
Morbid Enterprises has become known for their horror movie-based Halloween decorations, and this year they went all out in celebration of Stephen King's It . Alongside a light-up poster and a hanging decoration is this inflatable Pennywise, which measures a towering 6-feet tall - a full three inches taller than Tim Curry himself. Previously released inflatable decorations include Freddy and Jason, and it's good to see Pennywise getting some of that love. Also out this year, courtesy of Rubie's, are several different Pennywise masks and full costumes.
7
Freddy & Jason Pumpkins
Another fun product from Morbid Enterprises this year are these Freddy and Jason 'pumpkin busts,' which come pre-carved so you don't even have to dig out any guts or do any work. Artists like Ray Villafane have perfected the growing art of sculpting pumpkins rather than carving them, and these decorations are very much done in that style, making it appear as if the two biggest horror icons are tearing their way through the season's most beloved gourds. How about NES versions next year, Morbid?!
8
Godzilla Inflatable Costume
Like many, I wasn't a fan of this year's Godzilla reboot. In fact, I thought it was terribly lame, for the most part. But what I did really like about the movie was the redesign of the titular monster, as Godzilla looked more menacing and downright badass than ever before. Of course, dressing up as Godzilla for Halloween is much easier said than done, and up to this point it's been pretty impossible to do so - unless you've got serious fabrication skills. This year, however, even the most untalented of us can stomp around town as King Kaiju, thanks to this inflatable costume from Rubie's. A built-in fan will keep you inflated and imposing all night long, as you hunt for your Biollante.
9
Sharknado Costume
Whether you're amused by it or you think it's the bane of the horror genre, the phenomenon known as Sharknado has become indelibly etched into the fabric of popular culture, and it's damn sure not going anywhere. While many made their own DIY Sharknado costumes last year, the success of Syfy's sequel ensured that an officially licensed version would arrive for the 2014 season. And indeed it has. Not surprisingly, the outfit is already sold out at many online shops, and from what I understand it is not available in stores. There's also a 3D Sharknado t-shirt with a shark popping out of it, if you don't want to spend Halloween wearing Marge Simpson's hair.
10
Horror Icon Halloween Hangers
We already told you about artist Trevor Henderson's Halloween Hangers last month, but they're so cool that it just wouldn't seem right not mentioning them again. Trevor came up with the brilliant idea of turning horror icons into vintage-style jointed decorations, and he's added many more to the mix since we told you about them. All your favorites have been given the treatment, including Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, Tarman and even one of those little demons from The Gate. Be sure to browse Trevor's Etsy shop to see them al!
