Among the many horror happenings occurring throughout the month of October in Los Angeles, I wanted to bring your attention (if you happen to live in the area) to something that was just announced at Cinefamily.
On Friday, October 24th, Friday Night Frights is co-hosting an epic marathon of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Ticket information isn’t available yet – but bookmark this page. I suspect this will sell out so move fast when those details are released!
Things will kick off with A Nightmare on Elm Street and conclude with New Nightmare. So, no Freddy vs. Jason and no awful remake starring Jackie Earle Haley. All seven entries are going to be presented in 35mm and some special guests are being lined up (I just secured Chuck Russell for A Nightmare on Elm Street 3).
The marathon comes a great time. A Nightmare on Elm Street celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
This is the second marathon Cinefamily has hosted that was dedicated to a major iconic slasher. Over the summer, the team there hosted a Friday the 13th marathon that consisted of the Jarvis trilogy (Friday chapters 4, 5 and 6).
If you’re a Los Angeles Shock reader looking to stay in the loop on all of the horror events going down in town throughout the year, drop in on HorrorCal.com – a horror event calendar I co-created that you can subscribe to or simply check in on. There you will find info on screenings, signings, special events and more. October is pretty jam-packed with stuff, as you will see! But even when the Halloween season passes, HorrorCal will continue on…
