Yes, a new take on the 1990 film – arguably one of the best monster movies of the ’90s – that starred Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward and concerns underground worm-like creatures with mouth tentacles that ate people.

“After I finish up Company Of Heroes: The Fourth Reich I will be headed to Johannesburg, South Africa to reboot the Tremors franchise for Universal. Big year ahead and Im excited to keep it going with the support of all you genre movie lovers out there.
I’m sure Universal reps are doing a big “face palm” about this news slip since an official announcement has yet to be made. Given his previous films, I’m guessing the new Tremors will go direct-to-DVD/VOD as well.
Tremors spawned a slew of sequels and a television series. It’s easy to see why they would reboot it. Is there a need to? Of course not. The original still holds up because of its great writing, terrific characters, special FX and monster design.
