Collider broke the scoop and they add that Anderson is in the middle of writing a first draft. There’s no shooting start date (yet) and no release date (yet).
The last sequel, Resident Evil: Retribution, opened September 2012.
When Shock spoke to Anderson after the release of Resident Evil: Extinction, he informed us that he was working on a “new” Resident Evil trilogy that would close out the series. That trilogy – or story arc – began with Resident Evil: Afterlife and continued with Retribution.
Say what you will about the series, starring Milla Jovovich, it has been very profitable for Sony and Screen Gems. Profitable not just on U.S. soil but overseas as well.
