Released during the summer of ’88 (August 5th, to be exact), The Blob – starring SAW‘s Shawnee Smith and Entourage‘s Kevin Dillon – is widely considered one of the good remakes to come out of the that decade along with The Thing and The Fly. My first introduction to it was on HBO, so to help present it and see it on 35mm is truly a delight. My love letter to the special FX in the film – by Tony Gardner – came in the form of an episode of Insert Scream Here, in which I highlight one of my favorite scenes. You can check it out below!
