10 Unassuming Actors Who Took on Villainous Roles

Angela Bettis is so cute and awkward that one would probably want to hug her rather than quiver in fear. However, her character May Canaday in May isn’t as harmless and weak as she appears to be, especially when she has her mind set on something. Her character lives a very lonely life and a person without many people to talk to has a lot of time on their hands to think about things that can get them into trouble. When May realizes that she doesn’t need to find friends because she can just make the perfect one, she gathers the necessary materials without showing any signs of remorse. May’s timid and introverted personality immediately make people welcome her instead of fear her, and that benefit allows her to wreak havoc on individual’s lives.

Just because a woman is quiet and seemingly delicate, it does not mean that she won’t hesitate to cut you and ruin your life. Remember that, fellas.  In Audition, Asami seems like the perfect catch; she’s beautiful, she’s kind, and she’s sweet. But what her beau doesn’t know is that she is insane—like cut out your tongue and limbs and stuff you in a sack insane. Asami’s slender frame, soft voice, and her beauty allow her to get a free ride into someone’s life because they automatically assume that they can trust her, because she looks so innocent.

The next time that you decide to bully someone, just think about all of the crazy things that they are thinking about doing to you in their mind. Every time that you act upon your douchiness, your victim is building a mental list of the ways to seek their revenge. In Carrie, Sissy Spacek’s character Carrie White is an outcast who realizes that she has telekinesis, which she uses to terrorize her tormentors. White’s physical weakness, shyness, and overall lack of maturity make her an easy target for abuse, because no one would ever assume that she would or could strike back. More often than not, people who make assumptions are usually wrong, and Carrie’s nervous presence was a perfect front for what was brewing inside of her, which she was able to let out on a group of unsuspecting teens.

Always remember never to judge a book by its cover. Just because a person doesn’t look intimidating or vindictive on the outside, it doesn’t mean that they are incapable of being a sadistic individual. Those are only a few performances that seemed unusual for the actor, and not every performance or film was good, they were just a unexpected. Who makes your list?
