EXCL: Jillian Rose Reed Talks My Super Psycho Sweet 16: Part 3

In Super Psycho, the actress co-stars with Lauren McKnight, Kirsten Prout, Chris Zylka, Ryan Sypek, Autumn Dial, Onira Tares and Ben Winchell.  McKnight reprises her role as Skye Rotter, who deviates from her road trip college in New York City to visit her estranged sister who is celebrating her 16th birthday.

Tell us a little bit about the movie and your character specifically.

Jillian Rose Reed:  Well My Super Psycho Sweet 16 is about Skye Rotter and her serial killer father. So, in the first two you get to see how she deals with her father and her family and all the issues that they have. And in this one, part 3, Skye’s trying to move forward from her past which is really terrible for her. She’s trying to start over, she wants to go to school in New York and kind of get away from everything and she meets me. See, I play Sienna and we take a road trip together to New York. Along the way I convince her to visit her sister Alex, who you know from Part 2, and kind of make amends with her before she goes away to school. Once we get to her sweet sixteen party, Alex’s sweet sixteen, everything kind of goes psycho.

Was there something in particular about the movie or the series that drew you towards it?

Reed:  Well, I have never done a horror film before so the fact that that was something completely new to me was really exciting to me. And I had seen the other two, I was a fan of the other two just from watching MTV before and I just thought it was really cool. And the fact that there was this new character who was a lot like me in certain ways. It was really fun for me. Also getting to work with the blood and guts was super exciting.

Do you think people will be able to watch part 3 if they haven’t seen the other two?

Reed:  Yeah, I definitely think they can watch part 3. In the beginning it explains a lot, you see a little bit of part 1 and part 2 so it gets explained. I definitely think if you haven’t seen it you can tune in and you can know whats going on.

Reed:  I believe this is the last one, Yup.

So, just for our readers, do you like horror movies?

Reed:  I do, I love horror movies but I’m a big whimp. So I’m the person that buys the tickets and goes to the horror films but watches them through my fingers. But I do like it because I like being scared.

What was your favorite part about working on one?

Reed:  You know, I think it was just really awesome to see how everything is done. You know you watch these movies and you think “Oh my god that gash on that person’s head looks so real!” I wonder how they do that? I always wonder that and just getting to see how its done and seeing the whole process was very interesting to me. Plus, seeing how it comes together on screen and it just looks so real , I just thought it was insane I loved it.

Do you think you’re going to try and do some more horror movies or horror oriented things in the future?

Reed:  Absolutely it was so much fun!

Thanks for the taking the time do this!

Reed:  Of course, thank you so much!
