Prometheus has not even graced the screen yet and, already, sequel rumblings have begun. Shock has been privy to some of this talk, hearing that the film is actually a two-parter and, should the movie do well, we might see more pre-Alien goodness unfold in theaters. Now, director Ridley Scott is fanning the rumor mill flames.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he dropped Prometheus 2 a mention. Here is an excerpt.
EW: So, right now, all there is is the concept of doing a Blade Runner film? Nothing more than that?
RS: Right. I just thought Prometheus was so enjoyable ? returning to the world of science fiction was so fun ? that I wanted to [go back to Blade Runner, too]. I?m also thinking about what the hell I might do for a Prometheus 2.
EW: Do you think there will be one?
RS: [Knocks the wood coffee table and grins]
“Knock on wood” indeed. Who the hell is getting excited for June 8th? Um, we are!
