Pellington: Orphanage Remake Still in the Cards

He’s just waiting, and he thinks the script is…

Mark Pellington is playing a waiting game with Warner Bros.’ remake of The Orphanage.

The director of Arlington Road and The Mothman Prophecies boarded the film over a year ago when the former director, Larry Fessenden, backed out.

Pellington is still game to direct the redo of the Spanish chiller. He speaks very highly of it, claiming: “I think the script’s better than original,” he told MTV. “I think the original is really good, but I didn’t have a big jones to do a remake of something. I love this script. I love this story. So that’s all I can interpret.”

If the script is that strong, wouldn’t the studio have moved on it faster?
