The latest film from director Brad Anderson
Brad Anderson (The Machinist) returns to territory that put him on the genre map with the supernatural Vanishing on 7th Street, although the subject matter looks wildly divergent than his horror debut, the quiet and creepy Session 9.
Vanishing was accepted into the Toronto International Film Festival and we’ve got your very first look at the trailer for the film starring Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton and John Leguizamo. This one tells of a group of survivors who wake up to find their community has completely disappeared after a global blackout. They hole up in a bar to defend themselves from a dark menace.
The trailer is intriguing, for sure. If you look closely, there’s a reference to “Croatoan” – a nod to the Roanoke Island colony disappearance in 1597 – which might be a clue as to where Anderson is going with this film.
