On-Set Stills from McKenney’s Hypothermia

Wrapping production today

As the NorthEast gets hammered by another snow storm, James Felix McKenney is freezing his balls off in upstate New York where he’s wrapping Dark Sky Film’s Hypothermia today.

A large portion of the production took place on the middle of a frozen lake – Great Sacandaga Lake in Mayfield, NY. The production team spent weeks filming on the ice, having to take snow mobiles and four wheelers out to the actual set.

Michael Rooker and Blanche Baker star in this creature feature.

Rooker plays Ray Pelletier who, with his wife Helen, have been ice fishing the frozen expanse of Lake Noyade for over two decades but this year something is different: no fish bite. Is it their new neighbors on the ice – Stevie Jr. and his overbearing Dad – with their high-tech gear and over-sized rig that is driving the fish away? Or is it something else? The answer comes in an onslaught of ferocious attacks that unites the two families against a mysterious creature from under the ice.
