New Line’s horror future is bright
Variety puts a magnifying lens over New Line, the “House of Freddy Krueger,” in a new article today, tracking its successes and movements since being purchased by Warner Bros. last year.
What’s noteworthy at the end of this piece is that the trade paper says, in addition to the upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot, the production outfit is likely to move on two other genre films this year: A remake of The Orphanage, with Guillermo del Toro producing (Variety says New Line is going after a “high-profile female lead” for this one), and The Rite, writer Michael Petroni’s story about a priest who studies at an exorcism school in Italy.
