Papamichael to Direct From Within

Former gravedancer returns to horror

There’s always room for more religious spookshows and kids who may or may not be harbingers of evil. From Within appears to be exploring both avenues. Written by The Gravedancers‘ Brad Keene, “Within” is slated to begin shooting next month in Maryland with Thomas Dekker, Elizabeth Rice (My Dog Skip), Adam Goldberg (Stay Alive) and Jake Weber (Dawn of the Dead ’04).

Dekker made his feature debut in John Carpenter’s Village of the Damned (he was the half-breed alien kid) and recently enjoyed some success in “Heroes.” He’ll next be seen in “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” as the new John Connor.

From Within centers on a young girl yearning to break free of her Christian upbringing. As she contemplates this, residents in her small town being to croak. Mysteriously.

Former cinematogrpher Phedon Papamichael will take another crack at directing on “Within.” His last stint behind the camera was The Dark Side of Genius in ’94. Since then he has served as d.p. on Walk on the Line, Sideways and The Pursuit of Happyness.
