Italian schlock master falls
Gosh, we were just talking about the Italian exploitation connoisseur here, now we’re deeply saddened to report director Bruno Mattei (who directed under various monikers) has passed away. He’ll be remembered for his opulent use of stock footage in Hell of the Living Dead, his nunsploitation and the underwater terror he served up in Cruel Jaws (see aforementioned link for other highlights). We’re still getting details on his death. Given he was in his late-’70s, you can presume he passed away of natural causes but we’re going on a report from Twitch Film and are scrounging for more information.
