Twisted Pictures’ latest thriller
Twisted Pictures is poised to push more buttons with a new horror-thriller entitled Tortured, a title that aptly sums up the new wave of horror that, you could say, began with Twisted’s first Saw film. See how things come full circle like that? Variety reports Twisted plans to start shooting the film in Toronto this June, shortly after Darren Bousman wraps works on Saw IV. The film will even share the same crew but Rob Lieberman (“The Dead Zone”) will be at the helm working from a script by Marek Posival (who was formerly a second-unit director). In Tortured, two emotionally-wrought parents capture and exact revenge on the pedophile who killed their child. Mark Burg and Oren Koules will produce with Carl Mazzocone, however, they’ll go forward with the film without distribution.
Variety adds that after this film Twisted will then begin Bousman’s horror musical, Repo! The Genetic Opera.
