Exclusive Video Premiere: Pagan Bloodshed in ESA’s The Hold

British electronic industrial band ESA premiere their latest video “The Hold”

Post-industrial elector shock band ESA (Electronic Substance Abuse) is the brainchild of British Black/Death metal figure Jamie Blacker. But ESA is something else entirely. Taking influences initially from rhythmical noise acts, Blacker’s sound structures have developed and integrated countless influences from the broad spectrum of alternative and extreme music. The tone of ESA is harsh and oppressive, dripping with destructive and corroded grooves whilst still emanating deep melody and a strong sense of spirituality.

Following the last release “Flowers Were Real,” ESA return with “The Hold,” featuring the vocals talents of acclaimed and renown Ukrainian Heavy Metal siren Valeriia Moon (Aftermoon). This time, ESA utilize organic instruments with a viola score from Matt Hart (Queens Orchestra), adding a rich, cinematic feel.

Today, we’re excited to bring the sexy, bloody and totally pagan new video for “The Hold,” featuring members of the Grim North Theatre production company and classically-trained Ukrainian actress Milla Bratash. Check it out below… it’s intense, hot and scary.

This digital EP release of “The Hold” features four brand-new tracks, including the crushing and oppressive “In Good Faith’” and the club-storming iVardensphere remix of “The Hold.” The EP acts as a bridge between the last ESA full release; “Penance” and clears the path for the forthcoming new ESA album (scheduled for Winter 2017).

Order the EP here and hang out at the official ESA Facebook page here.

Now… check out this pummeling, punishing new video…
