The upcoming Korean action thriller Escape, starring Lee Je-Hoon, is set to premiere in theaters in South Korea soon. Escape will depict the escape and chase story of Lim Kyu-Nam, a North Korean soldier who desires to have a life beyond the borders and full of freedom.
Kwon Seong-Hwi and Kim Woo-Geun wrote the screenplay. Acclaimed filmmaker Lee Jong-Pil helmed the movie, which Park Eun-Kyung and Hong Jeong-In produced. Megabox Plus M is the distributor of the film.

The highly anticipated action-packed Korean film Escape will be released on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in theaters in South Korea. It is 1 hour and 36 minutes long.
In Escape, Lee Je-Hoon plays one of the lead roles of a North Korean sergeant, Lim Kyu Nam. Koo Kyo-Hwan portrays another central character in the movie, Officer Ri Hyeon-Sang of North Korea’s National Security Department. Meanwhile, Hong Xa-Bin plays a significant supporting role of a soldier named Dong-Hyuk. Other than them, the movie’s guest cast includes notable actors like Song Kang, Lee Ho-Jung, Esom, and Shin Hyun-Ji.
Escape Korean movie (2024): What is it about?
The 2024 Korean Movie Escape centers around the story of a North Korean Seargent, Lim Kyu-Nam, whose main objective is to have freedom to live beyond borders. To fulfill his goal, he goes on to prepare a risky plan to escape North Korea and head to the South. However, he soon turns into a deserter after trying to stop a common soldier, Dong-Hyuk, from escaping.
Lim Kyu-Nam is now at a risk of execution. However, then Ri Hyeon-Sang, a State Security Department Major, appears and turns him into a hero who has caught a deserter from a deserter. He does this as he has known Kyu-Nam since his childhood days. However, when Lim Kyu-Nam does not give up on his escape plan, Major Ri Heon-Sang tries his best to stop him from escaping and keep him safe.
