What is Shōgun Season 1 about?
Season 1 takes audiences into the feudal lords era of the 16th century. Ruler Taiko is no more. After his death, five regents appoint themselves as legal guardians of the late ruler’s heir. These five unofficial rulers protect the late ruler’s heir at Osaka Castle. However, their unbridled hunger to establish themselves as rulers turns the tables. Amid the challenging circumstances, an English pilot named John Blackthorne arrives on a Dutch ship on Japan’s coast. Sometime later, the Samurais arrest him as a prisoner.
