The new Black Noir or Black Noir II is a trained actor. However, Nathan Mitchell, who portrayed the original Black Noir in the previous three seasons, remains with the series and also plays the new Black Noir.
As of Episode 3, not much information has been divulged about the New Black Noir. We know that he is narcoleptic as well as talkative and animated, as opposed to the reserved and quiet original Black Noir. Also unlike the original Black Noir, the new one doesn’t have a brain injury.
By his own admission, the new Black Noir is struggling to understand what motivated the person he is portraying in front of the world. When he approaches other members of The Seven about this, they unceremoniously dismiss his concerns. All these clues, along with Mitchell’s involvement, make it clear that this character was not previously introduced in the series.
