Jared Padalecki, the lead actor and executive producer of the show, recently addressed the show’s cancelation via an Instagram post, wherein he penned a heartfelt message, expressing his gratitude to fans and the cast and crew members.
“Howdy y’all. It is with a heavy heart that I share this news with you. Walker will not be airing on #CW for a fifth season,” the post reads in part. “It’s a tough piece of news to be sure, but we are SO thankful for the #WalkerFamily that has been built, both on set and off.”

Walker was reportedly one of the few remaining The CW shows active before Nexstar’s eventual acquisition of the television network, prior to its cancelation. As per Variety, Nexstar is more focused on unscripted and co-produced projects.
