AMC’s Interview with the Vampire is the TV adaptation of the namesake 1976 book by Anne Rice, as well as a partial adaptation of the overall The Vampire Chronicles book series. The series debuted on October 2, 2022, with season 2 premiering on May 12, 2024. If you want to know whether there will be a third season of Interview with the Vampire, this is what we have learned.
Here’s all the Interview with the Vampire Season 3 release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.
Is there an Interview with the Vampire Season 3 release date?
Interview with the Vampire Season 3 does not have an official release date, but it will likely be announced in the future.
As of early May 2024, AMC has not renewed Interview with the Vampire for the third season. The network greenlit the sophomore season of the series about a month before the premiere of the first season, so there might be some concerns among the fans. However, during his appearance on The AMC+ Interview with the Vampire Podcast in November 2022, series creator Rolin Jones indicated that AMC had a long-term plan for the show. “They (AMC executives) put me through a gauntlet of things to prove that I was the guy [for the job], and it wasn’t just about what’s a good pilot story, what’s a good first season. It was what does this thing look like eight years from now.”
In the same interview, Rollins implied that the third season might cover Lestat’s complex relationship with his mother Gabrielle de Lioncourt. The relationship is at the center of the plot of The Vampire Lestat (1985), the second book in the series. So, we can assume that season 3 will probably be an adaptation of that book. Considering all this, if the audience responds to season 2 positively, Interview with the Vampire may return with season 3.
The cast of Interview with the Vampire includes Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, Sam Reid as Lestat de Lioncourt, and Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy. The cast also features Delainey Hayles as Claudia and Assad Zaman as Armand.
Where is Interview with the Vampire Season 3 coming out?
Interview with the Vampire Season 3 could come out on AMC and AMC Plus.
This is because season 1 of Interview with the Vampire came out on the same platforms. ComingSoon will provide an update if and when AMC announces the sophomore season of the series.
The official synopsis for Interview with the Vampire reads:
“Louis de Pointe’s epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality, as told to the journalist Daniel Molloy. Chafing at the limitations of life as a black man in 1900s New Orleans, Louis finds it impossible to resist the rakish Lestat De Lioncourt’s offer of the ultimate escape: joining him as his vampire companion.”
