Here’s the Invincible Season 2 Episode 8 ending explained and recap featuring spoilers about what happened in the finale. Dive into our breakdown and find out who died.
What happened at the end of Invincible Season 2 Episode 8?
Invincible Season 2 Episode 8 ended with Mark deciding to leave college to be a better man. Nolan, meanwhile, started to miss his wife on Earth.
After beating Angstrom Levy, Mark was brought back home by the Guardians, who had spent 20 years looking for him across the multiverse. Returning to his era and dimension, he fought a mental battle while coming to terms with taking a life. He decided that he would have to leave college and focus on becoming better than his father.
Having broken up with Amber, he briefly spied on her before uniting with Eve. A future variant of Eve told him that she always had feelings for him, and he should tell her what he felt about her. While Mark was about to act on that, he decided that it wasn’t the right time. So, it’s likely that season 3 could set up a love triangle between them.
Meanwhile in Egypt, two women raid an ancient temple and wake up the Egyptian pharaoh Ka-Hor, who could be a villain for Season 3. Elsewhere, The Immortal took a break from the Guardians and went to the Arctic tundra. Here, he found out that Dupli-Kate was still alive. Reuniting with The Immortal, she apologized and is now expected to be back to teaming with the other Guardians in Season 3.
Lastly, Allen the Alien got himself caught to meet Nolan at the Viltrumite prison. While Nolan was ready to be executed, Allen tried to recruit him against Viltrum. What he said worked as it gave Nolan motivation to live, as well as making him realize that he truly misses Debbie.
Next season, we can likely expect Nolan to break out of the Viltrumite prison and team up with Allen, Mark, the Guardians, and Thaedus.
Who dies in the Invincible Season 2 finale?
Angstrom Levy was the only one to die in the Invincible Season 2 finale.
Levy finally returned to cast his revenge on Mark Grayson for what happened to him earlier in the season. He was able to get his body fixed, along with some upgrades. While he sent Mark on a trip across the multiverse, he also threatened Debbie and Oliver.
Mark was initially holding himself back. But upon seeing how Levy broke his mother’s hand, he lost his cool and delivered a beatdown similar to what his father did to him in Season 1. Assuming that Levy could endure his blows, Mark kept on punching him, and ended up killing him in the process.
