Fans are asking if Marvel Zombies is rated PG-13 or TV-MA. Fans are also curious about how much violence and gore will be in the Disney Plus series. Here is everything you need to know.
Is Marvel Zombies rated PG-13 or TV-MA?
Marvel Zombies is rated TV-MA.
The upcoming Marvel show will be rated TV-MA. This is a rating for a show that is specifically designed for viewing for adults or those aged 17 and over only.
This TV-MA rating was confirmed by Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation in a recent interview with IGN. During the interview, he was asked if Marvel might delve into the growing realm of mature animation.
Winderbaum said: “In terms of more mature animation, yeah, we’re making a Marvel Zombies show right now that is pretty intense that’s for sure a TV-MA show.”
The TV-MA rating for Marvel Zombies was previously confirmed by What If…? director and executive producer Bryan Andrews in a What If…? Season 2 Live Q&A (via YouTube), where he said “Yeah [it’s] full TV-MA.”
Will Marvel Zombies feature a lot of violence and gore?
Fans can expect a lot of violence and gore in Marvel Zombies. This is according to Brad Winderbaum, who said the show will not be holding back its violence.
In the IGN Interview, Brad Winderbaum mentioned that the series is trying to honor the comics and not pull any punches. Therefore, fans can expect a high level of violence.
Winderbaum said: “And again, it’s trying to honor the comics. And what was so great about the comics was it not pulling its punches. That’s certainly what we’re going for on that project also.”
