In February 2024, reports about Lanthimos’ Save the Green Planet remake began circulating. Ari Aster (Midsommar) was initially attached to the project as the director. A couple of days later, it was reported that Emma Stone was in talks to join the project. If she is indeed part of the production, this would mark her sixth collaboration with Lanthimos. This includes Poor Things and the upcoming film Kinds of Kindness, slated to release on June 21, 2024. Stone won the Best Actress Oscar for the former movie in 2024,
In March 2024, it was reported that Jesse Plemons, who will appear alongside Stone in Kinds of Kindness, will work with the actress and Lanthimos in the Save the Green Planet remake. Will Tracy (The Menu) is adapting Joon-hwan’s screenplay. Aster will serve as one of the producers. If production begins sometime in 2025, Save the Green Planet can come out in 2025 at the earliest.
