No, there is reportedly no drama between Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo.
However, rumors of a feud between the two singer-songwriters reportedly began around September 2023, when fans began speculating that Olivia Rodrigo’s song Vampire from her GUTS album was about Taylor Swift. The rumor revolved particularly around the lyrics “Bloodsucker, fame f*cker, bleedin’ me dry like a goddamn vampire” which some fans believed were Rodrigo referencing and dissing Swift.
Moreover, according to an article by Teen Vogue, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo’s growing friendship suffered following the release of Rodrigo’s SOUR album, which suffered copyright issues from other artists including Taylor Swift, who was given co-writer credit on Rodrigo’s song “Deja Vu” due to its similarities with Swift’s “Cruel Summer”.
As Teen Vogue further stated, speculations of a feud only grew when Taylor Swift invited Sabrina Carpenter to be the opener for her Eras Tour, which Olivia Rodrigo did not attend. This is because many believed Carpenter was “that blonde girl” whom Rodrigo was referring to in her song “Driver’s License”, which fans believed was about Rodrigo’s ex Joshua Bassett, whom Carpenter reportedly dated following Bassett’s breakup from Rodrigo.
However, Rodrigo denied these fan rumors in an interview with The Guardian in September 2023. Where she expressed surprise that people thought those lyrics were about Swift and also whispered that she never wanted to say who her songs were about, while vehemently claiming that she has never done that before. She had previously denied the rumors in a 2021 Teen Vogue interview, claiming people were taking things out of context.
