Disney launched a green band Deadpool 3 trailer for the world to watch. But did the Super Bowl release help the teaser become the most-viewed trailer of all time? Did it surpass Spider-Man: No Way Home’s viewership? Here’s all you need to know.
Is the Deadpool 3 & Wolverine trailer the most viewed of all time?
The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer became the most viewed trailer of all time, gaining over 365 million views in 24 hours.
As per Statista, the Deadpool & Wolverine Super Bowl trailer managed to become the most-watched trailer within the first 24 hours. It managed to take down the previous record holder, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which had amassed 355.5 million views in the same time.
This was expected as Deadpool & Wolverine is among the most anticipated movies of the year. It broke the record of multiple previous MCU outings featuring X-Men cameos, Secret Wars Easter Eggs, and teases for multiple Wolverine and Deadpool variants.
Besides the hype for the film, two factors contributed to its high viewership numbers. Since this was the first teaser, Disney decided to hold the Red Band trailer back, which would have been viewed by a smaller demographic. Furthermore, the trailer debuted during the Super Bowl, which in itself was the most-watched telecast in history. So, the teaser simply rode the Super Bowl hype.
