Gina Carano is suing Disney over her firing from The Mandalorian for wrongful termination and discrimination.

The former Cara Dune actress filed a lawsuit against Disney, Lucasfilm, and Huckleberry Industries on Tuesday at the California Federal court. Carano alleged in the lawsuit that she was wrongfully terminated and discriminated against for her dismissal from The Mandalorian. According to the complaint filed in California federal court, Carano seeks $75,000 in compensatory charges and forces Lucasfilm to reinstate her as part of The Mandalorian’s cast.

Carano previously came under fire from Disney back in 2021 when she posted tweets that did not align with the views held by Disney. One of her tweets implied a comparison between Jewish life during the holocaust and the life of a modern conservative in the US, which caused various critics online to label her a racist and transphobe. Lucasfilm subsequently fired Carano and issued a statement that claimed that her posts denigrated people based on their racial and cultural identities. Carano was also dropped from her talent agency UTA (via Variety).
