A new Jurassic World movie is set for a 2025 release and fans are wondering if David Leitch is the director of the film. Here is all that is known currently.
Is David Leitch the Jurassic World 2025 director?
David Leitch is in talks to direct the new Jurassic World movie.
As revealed by Deadline, Universal Pictures is reportedly in early talks with David Leitch to helm the new movie. Leitch is currently reported to be producing the film alongside Kelly McCormick via his company 87North.
Interest in the new Jurassic World movie grew following the massive box office success of Jurassic World: Dominion, which managed to collect over $1 billion at the box office.
David Leitch is best known for his work in the action genre. He helmed 2017’s Atomic Blonde starring Charlize Theron, 2018’s Deadpool 2 with Ryan Reynolds, 2019’s Fast & Furious spin-off film Hobbs & Shaw, and 2022’s Bullet Train starring an ensemble cast that included Brad Pitt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hiroyuki Sanada and Brian Tyree Henry. Leitch also co-directed 2014’s John Wick with Chad Stahelski but was uncredited for his work on that film.
As of now, the only things known about Jurassic World 2025 are that it will be a completely fresh story in the world of dinosaurs and that Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are not expected to reprise their roles from the previous three Jurassic World installments. The film is scheduled for a July 2, 2025 release. David Koepp, who wrote the original Jurassic Park film back in 1993, will serve as the writer of the movie.
Jurassic World 2025 will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg via Amblin Entertainment, while Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will serve as the producers of the film.
