Marvel fans are wondering if Jeremy Renner‘s Hawkeye will return to the MCU after Renner’s snowplow accident in January 2023. Here is all you need to know.
Will Jeremy Renner come back as Hawkeye in the MCU?
Jeremy Renner will very likely return to the MCU as Hawkeye as the actor has expressed strong interest in doing so.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, roughly one year after his tragic snowplow accident, Renner expressed that he is always ready to return as Hawkeye in The Avengers and MCU franchise and claimed that he would be strong enough to do so. He also expressed gratitude for his Marvel co-stars who helped him while he was trying to recover and claimed that if Marvel wanted him to return he would come back.
This sentiment echoes his statements back on June 2, 2023, when he attended a Phoenix fan convention (as posted by user Legion of Sand) and claimed that he would reprise his role as Hawkeye “in a heartbeat” if Marvel wished him to and affirmed his love for the MCU.
What project will Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye return in?
Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye could return in Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars, given his status as an Avenger.
However, due to the ending of 2021’s Hawkeye series, which saw Clint Barton wanting to retire permanently from superhero duties to spend time with his family, he will more likely return in a supporting capacity in any future MCU project where he furthers the efforts of his successor, Kate Bishop, in her story arc.
