The actor who plays Zeus in Disney Plus’ Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is the late Lance Reddick.
Lance Reddick was an American actor and musician. He first gained recognition by portraying Baltimore police officer Cedric Daniels in the hit HBO crime-drama series The Wire. He later went on to play Philip Broyles in the sci-fi series Fringe as part of the main cast for its first four seasons and as a guest star in its fifth season, as well as Chief Irvin Irving in the police procedural streaming series Bosch.
Reddick also had roles in other television projects such as Lost (2004-2010), where he played Mathew Abaddon, and Oz (1997-2003), where he played a supporting role as Detective Johnny Basil. He also played Albert Wesker and his clones in the 2022 Netflix Resident Evil series.
Lance Reddick is best known in films for playing Charon in Keanu Reeves’ critically and commercially acclaimed John Wick franchise and is set to posthumously reprise the role in the spin-off, Ballerina. He has also had roles in films like Jonah Hex, White House Down, Oldboy, and Godzilla vs. Kong.
Reddick has also dipped his toes in the world of voice acting. He has voiced various characters in animated projects like Rick and Morty, The Legend of Vox Machina, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and Invincible.
Lance Reddick is also known in the video game world for having provided the facial/motion capture and voice for Sylens in Guerilla Games’ Horizon series. He also played Commander Zavala in Destiny 2 and Martin Hatch in Remedy Entertainment’s Quantum Break.
