Kevin Hart’s Lift has finally hit Netflix and fans are curious about what happens at the end of the action heist-comedy movie. Here is the ending explained with spoilers.
What Happens at the End of Lift?
At the end of Lift, Cyrus, Abby, and Camilla survive Jorgensen’s attempts to kill them and he is arrested. When the plane the trio is on is badly damaged, it crash lands into Jorgensen’s estate, causing a crate of Jorgensen’s gold to fall off. Jorgensen sees and attempts to kill the trio only to be foiled by the arriving police, who learn of Jorgensen’s murder of one of his buyers from Leviathan through Cyrus’ use of N8’s NFT technology and arrest him.
Abby then learns from one of Huxley’s men that he ordered them to shoot the plane she was on just to stop Jorgensen’s gold from reaching him, regardless of her safety. Abby, shocked by this, resigns from Interpol in anger and joins Cyrus and his crew as their newest member.
Was the gold stolen by Cyrus real or fake?
The gold stolen from Jorgensen by Cyrus and his team was real, as Cyrus tells Abby at the end of the film. They had switched the crate containing the real gold with fake ones shortly before their capture by his men.
This implies that even if Cyrus and his team were arrested, Jorgensen would still end up in trouble as he would unknowingly give fake gold to his buyers, the Leviathan who would catch on and freeze his accounts in retaliation.
Why does Abby leave Interpol?
Abby leaves Interpol as she feels hurt and betrayed by Huxley, her superior, who she learns did not hesitate to let her die so that he could stop Jorgensen.
Did Luke back out of the heist?
No, Luke did not back out of Cyrus and the rest of the team’s heist to steal Jorgensen’s gold. He initially appeared to back out but as part of the plan. Luke took part in the heist by helping guide the plane they were on to safety.
