The final DCEU movie, Aquaman 2 is filled with DC easter eggs and pop culture references for viewers to pick up on. Here’s a list of some important easter eggs spotted in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Orm is… Loki?
Arthur and Orm’s relationship shares a parallel with Thor and Loki’s relationship. After all, the latter was once a villain who fought against his brother and turned into an antihero after that. So, at one point Arthur straight up referred to Orm as Loki, riffing off the reference from the Norse Mythology and Marvel.
Castaway
Besides Loki, Arthur also called Orm “Castaway” due to his appearance in prison. This was a nod to Tom Hanks’ bearded look in 2000’s Cast Away.
The Prisoner of Azkaban
In their fun banter across the film, Arthur told Orm that he’d be going straight back to Azkaban after their mission. While he was talking about Orm’s desert prison, it was a direct reference to Harry Potter’s infamous jail.
Orichalcum is basically Unobtanium from Avatar
Orichalcum was introduced as a powerful substance that empowered its users but harmed the environment drastically. So, it’s pretty similar to the way “Unobtanium” was used in the first Avatar movie. It was precious to humans but its mining practically destroyed a part of Pandora’s natural habitat.
Necrus from DC
Aquaman 2’s “Lost Kingdom” turned out to be Necrus. It is the ancient “Black City” ruled by King Atlan’s brother, Kordax, in the film. But it was an unstable city that often disappeared and appeared in the DC comics lore.
Aquaman’s Seahorse Storm
Arthur Curry’s steed named “Storm” makes its way to live-action DCEU straight out of the comics and the original “Super Friends” DC animated series. While Storm is purple in the comics, it’s even more impressive in the film with its glowing blue design.
Arthur needed no Prep Time, unlike Batman
Arthur told Orm that he defeated him even without getting any prep time in the first film. That was a direct jab at Batman and his fans. After all, the Caped Crusader is believed to be unbeatable if he gets enough “Prep Time” to take on any powerful enemy.
Arthur Curry is Iron Man!
Right before the credits began to roll, Arthur Curry revealed the existence of Atlantis and announced to the world that he, the King of Atlantis is in none other than the infamous “Aquaman.”
Now does that remind you of someone else? Tony Stark’s announcement of being Iron Man practically started the MCU while Arthur Curry’s announcement has ended the DCEU!
