The ONA was first announced at the Anime Expo in July 2023. Bandai Namco Filmworks, under the brand name Sunrise, is developing the anime in collaboration with SAFEHOUSE Inc. Erasmus Brosdau and Gavin Hignight are performing the directing and writing duties, respectively, with Australian actress Celia Massingham providing the voice for the main protagonist, Iria Sorari in the English dub. The ONA is produced by using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5. In early December 2023, Netflix released a new teaser of it.
Not much is known about the anime’s release date, with Netflix announcing that it is “coming soon.” However, given that the Gundam project before it, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, is slated to release on January 26, 2024, Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance can potentially come out sometime in mid-to-late 2024.
