After her fight with Mahito, Nobara Kugisaki’s status will be unknown following the Shibuya arc of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
Season 2 Episode 18 (Episode 42) has caused fans everywhere to grieve for Nanami’s death. Just when fans thought they could catch a break, Mahito targets Nobara next, leaving the people extremely worried for her.
After Nobara encounters Mahito’s double, the two begin a battle. Nobara prepares herself for battle especially since she knows who Mahito is and how much trouble he has caused for Yuji Itadori. Similar to Yuji, Mahito will eventually learn that Nobara is another natural enemy of his because of her Straw Doll Cursed Technique.
Eventually, Yuji and Nobara meet along with the two Mahitos. Unfortunately, Mahito catches Nobara off guard and manages to touch her face. Nobara begins to think about her life growing up and how being at Jujutsu High has changed her. She looks at Yuji and tells him that it wasn’t so bad in the end. Suddenly, the left side of Nobara’s face explodes (notably her eye pops off) and she falls right in front of Yuji.
Nobara’s status remains unknown, even in the manga. In chapter 144 of the manga, Yuji asks about Nobara but Megumi responds by looking at the ground silently. With that, we still don’t know whether Nobara is alive or dead.
What episode does Nobara die in Jujutsu Kaisen?
We don’t know yet if Nobara’s alive or dead. However, we won’t be seeing her for a long time after the Shibuya arc. On average, the anime adapts around four to six chapters, although Episode 42 (Season 2 Episode 18) only adapted chapters 120-122.
During the fight with Mahito, she gets fatally injured and this happens in Episode 43 (Season 2 Episode 19). In the manga, this is in chapter 125.
