The series premiered on CBS on September 27, 2017, and received mostly positive responses. Season six, comprising ten episodes, started streaming on Paramount Plus between September 18, 2022, and November 20, 2022. SEAL Team was renewed for the seventh season in January 2023, but filming is set to begin in December 2023, 11 months later. The delay was likely due to the Hollywood strikes, both of which have since ended. In November 2023, it was announced that the upcoming season would be the show’s last.

With the previous seasons, there were only a few months of intermediate periods between renewals and premieres. Given that filming for season seven is set to start in December, it will most likely debut in spring 2024 at the earliest.
