Loki season 2 introduces viewers to Ouroboros, aka “O.B.“, who is played by the lovable Ke Huy Quan. Though he seems friendly on the surface, a popular fan theory is that O.B. is actually going to become the main villain of the second season. Here’s what you need to know.
Is O.B. the main villain in Loki season 2?
O.B. could be the main villain in Loki season 2. However, as of episode 3, he still appears to be on the side of Loki and the TVA.
O.B. seems determined to assist the TVA in preventing the deaths of everybody. However, he is also suspicious for several reasons that could ultimately see him become the main villain.
Firstly, his name. While the meaning of “Ouroboros” could point to “Infinity” and O.B.’s role at the TVA, it could also be seen as him being the beginning of the end. In Norse mythology (which Loki himself is from), the end of the world (Ragnarok) occurs when the Ouroboros releases its tail. Perhaps O.B. isn’t as good as he first appears.
Additionally, O.B. is the only member of the TVA who has a full recollection of all events. It’s possible that he has been working alongside He Who Remains, or that he himself is a Kang variant. If he is a variant, O.B. could be revealed to be Mister Gryphon, which could make sense.
Alternatively, O.B. could become evil purely because he is seen as a lesser member of the TVA. He is overworked and has been left abandoned by his coworkers, despite his expertise and writing the TVA handbook itself.
Finally, there’s Ke Huy Quan himself. Fans clearly love the guy, and he has made a fantastic impression with his Oscar-winning role in Everything Everywhere All at Once. It would be an excellent subversion of expectations to flip his role of a good guy into the main enemy.
