Created by George Kay and François Uzan, Lupin is a French mystery thriller series streaming on Netflix. The plot revolves around gentleman thief Assane Diop, who is heavily inspired by the adventures of detective and thief Arsène Lupin, a character that French novelist Maurice Leblanc created in the early 1900s. When Diop was young, his father was framed for a crime he didn’t commit and eventually died by suicide. As an adult, he resolves to take revenge against those responsible, using the tactics and mannerisms of Arsène Lupin.
