Ever since Season 2 began streaming, people have been wondering about the Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 release date. The series takes place in the same world as Michael Hirst’s original Vikings show that aired from 2013 to 2020. But its story is set 100 years after the tales of Ragnar Lothbrok, Bjorn Ironside, and Ivar the Boneless. It introduced us to new leads including Leif Erikson, Freydis Eiríksdóttir, and Harald Sigurdsson. But when will they return for Season 3?
Here’s all the Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.
Is there a Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 release date?
Vikings: Valhalla Season 3’s release date could arrive sometime between January 1st and March 31st in 2024.
The series was renewed for its third season in February 2023 after Season 2 arrived on January 12. It has already been confirmed that we’ll get to binge its new episodes in 2024. But based on past release patterns (Season 1 on February 25, 2022), we could get the third season in the first quarter of 2024.
This window is highly likely because Season 3 had already been shot even before the second season dropped in January. So, its production isn’t affected by the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strikes and could finish its post-production by early 2024.
This date is an estimation based on the information we have so far. ComingSoon will provide an update to this story once we receive official details.
In the upcoming season, we expect Freydis to continue leading the people of Jomsborg after she accepted that she is the Keeper of the Faith. Meanwhile, the two warriors Leif and Harld were sent on different paths by the end of Season 2. So, Leif’s journey might lead him to go back to Greenland, just as the real-life Leif Erikson did. Meanwhile, Harald’s story might make him a part of a love triangle.
Season 3 brings back Sam Corlett as Leif Erikson, Frida Gustavsson as Freydis, and Leo Suter as Harald. Along with them, we’d also see Bradley Freegard as King Canute, Laura Berlin as his wife Queen Emma, and David Oakes as Godwin.
