DC’s Stargirl concluded its third season nearly a year ago on December 2022 and since then viewers have been wondering about whether or not there will be a fourth season and if at all they will get to see Brec Bassinger’s Courtney Whitmore continuing to save the world.
Here’s all the DC’s Stargirl Season 4 release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.
Is there a DC’s Stargirl Season 4 release date?
DC’s Stargirl Season 4 does not have a release date. This is because a fourth season is not happening as The CW pulled the plug from the show after three seasons.
The cancellation of DC’s Stargirl happened as The CW was undergoing massive changes in its television network, particularly selling most of its shares to Nexstar Media, who eventually bought the company and intended to engage with a different demographic compared to the one The CW was engaged with. This resulted in the cancellation of not only DC’s Stargirl but also its fellow superhero show contemporaries like Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
However, DC’s Stargirl’s cancellation had no major impact on the ending as the creators were aware of such a scenario and filmed two endings, one which would end with a cliffhanger if DC’s Stargirl was picked up for another season and another ending, that ended the overarching plot of the superhero series.
DC’s Stargirl is created by Geoff Johns and features Brec Bassinger in the lead role of Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl. Other cast members include Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Cameron Gellman, Trae Romano, Meg DeLacy, Amy Smart, Luke Wilson, and Neil Hopkins, among other cast members.
Where is DC’s Stargirl Season 4 coming out?
DC’s Stargirl Season 4 is not coming out on The CW as it has been canceled.
The official synopsis for DC’s Stargirl reads:
“Courtney Whitmore, a smart, athletic, and above all else kind girl, discovers her step-father has a secret: he used to be the sidekick to a superhero. “Borrowing” the long-lost hero’s cosmic staff, she becomes the unlikely inspiration for an entirely new generation of superheroes.”
