The latest episode of Ahsoka seemingly shows a mysterious place called World Between Worlds but doesn’t explain what it is. What is the World Between Worlds? Why is it so important in Star Wars? Here’s what you need to know.
What is the World Between Worlds in Ahsoka?
The World Between Worlds is a mystical and enigmatic place in Ahsoka episode 4.
The Disney Plus series seemingly showed the World Between Worlds for the first time in live action. In the story, Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) wakes up after falling off a cliff during her clash with Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson), only to meet her former Jedi Master, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen). Ahsoka episode 4 didn’t directly mention that Ahsoka and Anakin met in the World Between Worlds, but long-term Star Wars fans know the titular heroine already has experience with the place.
First introduced in Star Wars Rebels season 1 episode 10, the World Between Worlds is a dimension that exists outside of time and space and is a nexus point for the Force. In Rebels, Ahsoka inadvertently entered the place while battling Darth Vader. She encountered various key moments in her life and the broader Star Wars saga, including the events surrounding the fall of Anakin.
Ahsoka’s experience in the World Between Worlds significantly affected her character. In fact, the Rebels season 2 finale implied Ahsoka died for a second time while facing off against Darth Vader, only to be saved by Ezra Bridger’s journey into the mystical place in season 4. Subsequently, Ezra’s actions raised questions about the implications of time travel and destiny within the Star Wars universe.
Ahsoka is currently streaming on Disney Plus. New episodes premiere on Tuesdays.
