Ahsoka Tano is one of the most popular Star Wars characters, proof is that she faced death and was resurrected twice. Now that she is even headlining a live-action series, fans might want to know what happened to the beloved heroine. How many times did Ahsoka die? And did she survive until the end of the Skywalker saga? Here’s what you need to know.
When did Ahsoka die the first time?
Ahsoka died for the first time at the hands of the Son in the Mortis arc in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
It’s not uncommon for Star Wars characters to return in some form after their death, but Ahsoka’s case is pretty unique. One of the more enigmatic and thought-provoking storylines in The Clone Wars saw Ahsoka dying after facing the Son. Only thanks to The Daughter, who transferred some of her life essence into Ahsoka, the beloved character was saved.
Why did Ahsoka die a second time?
Ahsoka seemingly died a second time after colliding with Darth Vader in the Star Wars Rebels season 2 finale.
There is much debate over what actually happened during the clash between Ahsoka and her former master. Rebels left the duel’s end purposely ambiguous. However, it was implied Vader killed Ahsoka. In season 4, Ezra Bridger’s journey in the World Between Worlds seems to have changed the clash’s course and saved Ahsoka.
Is Ahsoka alive at the end of the Skywalker saga?
Ahsoka is supposedly dead at the end of the Skywalker saga.
When Rey confronts Emperor Palpatine at the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, she can hear the voices of the past Jedi supporting her, including Ahsoka’s one (voiced by Ashley Eckstein). That scene implied Ahsoka became one with the Force, pretty much like the other Jedi. Considering the unique relationship Ahsoka Tano has with the Force and death, it wouldn’t be too surprising if she actually survived.
The upcoming series, which takes place many years before the sequel trilogy events, might bring answers about the heroine’s fate. Ahsoka premieres on Disney Plus on August 23.
