With Only Murders in the Building season 3 episode 3 already in the books, some fans might be looking for a closer look at that ending. What happened in “Grab Your Hankies”? And why are those handkerchiefs so important? Here’s what you need to know, and beware of spoilers.
What happens at the end of Only Murders in the Building season 3 episode 3?
Kimber casts a very ominous look at Loretta during her show-stealing performance.
Only Murders in the Building season 3 episode 3 saw Mabel (Selena Gomez) and Charles (Steve Martin) investigating the whereabouts of the assassination of Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd). In the meantime, Oliver (Martin Short) is putting on his play that was turned into a musical. To be successful, the musical needed a showstopper, which Oliver found in Loretta (Meryl Streep).
While it appeared Oliver’s Death Rattle Dazzle had been finally greenlit, not everyone looked happy about Loretta stealing the show. In a voiceover, Kimber (Ashley Park) stated showbusiness is a competitive business, and sometimes one might need to snuff the competition out when someone shines brighter than the others. All of that, while looking at Loretta.
Who’s the one without their handkerchief?
Kimber is missing her hankie.
Mabel and Charles believe whoever is missing their hankie is also potentially responsible for Ben’s death. Charles spent part of the episode trying to figure out who’s without one, even suggesting creating a quilt with all the hankies in Ben’s honor. When Charles asks Kimber to give him her handkerchief, the “TikTok-addicted starlet” answers she must have thrown it away or donated it to a good cause, leaving Charles wondering whether she’s the main suspect.
