Should I Watch Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Before the Anime?
No, it is not necessary to watch Jujutsu Kaisen 0 before the anime because you will still be able to keep up with and understand season 1’s storyline without watching the movie prior to the anime.
However, watching Jujutsu Kaisen 0 offers a glimpse into the events of the year before Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki entered Tokyo Jujutsu High. The movie is highly recommended for those who want to know more about Yuta Okkotsu (who is briefly mentioned in season 1) and the (now) second-years Maki, Panda, and Inumaki.
The current story arc of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 is the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc. This is a flashback to Satoru Gojo’s past as a student alongside Shoko Ieiri and Suguru Geto, who is one of the villains in the first season. In this arc, the story is set in the year 2006.
