The Witcher season 3 featured the return of many familiar faces from the original Netflix series but also introduced new characters, including Keira Metz. Who’s Keira Metz? Why is she so important to Geralt’s fate? Does Keira return in the upcoming part 2 of The Witcher season 3? Here’s what you need to know, spoiler free.
Who plays Keira Metz in The Witcher season 3?
Safiyya Ingar plays Keira Metz in The Witcher season 3.
Ingar’s credits include Summer of Rockets, Faith, and some dubbing in Diablo IV and Valkyrie Elysium. The first news of her casting broke out in March 2022, but it wasn’t confirmed that Ingar would portray Keira just until she made her debut in the second episode of The Witcher season 3. In the story, she met Yennefer and Ciri after Yennefer asked her for a portal to Aretuza. Things turned ugly after Yennefer and Ciri killed one of Houvenaghel’s men to free a child about to be sold as a slave. Keira fled the scene through one of her portals and invited Yennefer and Ciri to do the same.
Both in Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels and in The Witcher video games, Keira is a formidable sorceress who’s part of King Foltest of Temeria’s advisory committee and of the Lodge of Sorceresses.
Is Keira returning in The Witcher season 3 part 2?
Keira will likely return in The Witcher season 3 part 2.
Nothing bad happened to Keira during the events in The Witcher season 3 episode 5. In fact, it seemed Keira was quite enjoying the party at Aretuza, planning to “get pregnant” during the evening. Fans can still hope to see her return when The Witcher season 3 part 2 premieres on July 27. Plus, being one of Yennefer’s friends might bode well for the character’s return.
