Below you will see the NYT Connections hints and answers for July 25, 2024. In addition to Strands and Wordle, this The New York Times word game has surged in popularity due to its difficulty. It tests your ability to put words in a group, though that’s easier said than done, since many of the 16 words you’re given have similar meaning and associations. Today’s puzzle is extremely tricky and in some ways a bit unfair (we’re looking at you, green group). Compared to the puzzle from July 24, the difficulty in today’s game is quite high. Here is the Connections answer for 07/25/2024, with a clue for each color category in case you still want to figure it out.
What are some NYT Connections hints for July 25?
Here are four NYT Connections hints for the July 25, 2024 puzzle. We will give a clue to help you work out the category of every color group, starting with the yellow group (easiest) and ending with the purple group (hardest). - Yellow Group Hint
- All of the words in the yellow group are nouns. One of them is “papyrus.”
- Green Group Hint
- This group of words describes a certain type of person. Some of the words are not the exact noun that’s used for a person, so watch out here.
- Blue Group Hint
- The blue group is another set of nouns and is about certain characteristics.
- Purple Group Hint
- There are actually a lot of words in the puzzle that would fit here, so we recommend leaving this to the end.
What are the NYT Connections answers for July 25?
Here are the NYT Connections answers for July 25, 2024. We will reveal which four words belong in which colored group, going from yellow (easiest), to green, blue, and purple (hardest).
- Yellow Group Answer: Ancient Writing Surfaces
- CLAY, PAPYRUS, PARCHMENT, WAX
- Green Group Answer: Lead, as a TV Program
- ANCHOR, HOST, MODERATE, PRESENT
- Blue Group Answer: Natural Ability
- FACULTY, FLAIR, INSTINCT, TALENT
- Purple Group Answer: Wrapped Things
- BURRITO, GIFT, MUMMY, SPRAIN
In our estimation, the green group is actually the most difficult to figure out. The association between “anchor” and “host” is easy enough, but “moderate” and “present” are awkward. If we’re talking about the lead in a TV program, the right words are “moderator” and “presenter.”
But whoever makes this puzzle probably wanted to be deliberately confusing here, since “present” is something that is wrapped too. Also, a “moderate” usually describes someone politically, which makes the category more confusing. But we don’t make the rules around here. At any rate, the yellow and blue groups are easier to figure out, so you might get the green group anyway by process of elimination.
