The first piece of Fallout 4 DLC is almost upon us and Bethesda Softworks has released the official Automatron trailer, showing off their first expansion to the Wasteland. Fallout 4 Automatron will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam on March 22. The pack costs $10 and is also available in the Fallout 4 season pass.
In Automatron, the mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!
Fans will no doubt recognize the name “Mechanist” from the lore of the series as a character with the same name appeared in Fallout 3. This version however appears to be inspired by the villain from the “Silver Shroud” stories. A series of radio plays, The Silver Shroud was a popular superhero in the Commonwealth before the war, a role which players can take on in the came in a fun sidequest.
Fallout 4 Automatron is set to be followed by two more add-ons, including the Wasteland Workshop and a new case for Valentine’s Detective Agency, Far Harbor.
