Today, 2K announced the various cover stars of its upcoming WWE 2K24, as well as detailing new features that will help the game celebrate 40 years of WrestleMania.
The Standard Edition of WWE 2K24 will see WWE superstar Cody Rhodes grace the cover, as his “story” of not having yet beaten Roman Reigns seems to be the overarching theme for this year’s game. And multi-time champions and Women’s Royal Rumble winners Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley will also get their own covers gracing the the Deluxe Edition.
This also marks the first time that two women have had their own dedicated WWE 2K cover. A special “Forty Years of WrestleMania” Edition of the game will also be released and feature original artwork celebrating some of the most iconic superstars and legends in WWE history, including The Rock, The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and more.
WWE 2K24 features include improved cameras, facial animations
Alongside the covers, 2K also shared some news about the features set to arrive in the game, namely a big update to the game’s 2K Showcase mode. This year, 2K will celebrate the 40th anniversary of WrestleMania in the Showcase mode, with new moments that allow fans to play through some of the most iconic WrestleMania moments in history.
2K24 will also feature four new match types added into the game. These include Ambulance matches, Special Guest Referee matches, and more. 2K also stated that over 200 superstars and legends will be in the game and that they have updated more than 90% of facial animations, as well as big improvements to entrances and other camera tweaks.
