THQ Nordic announced on Thursday that its planned Alone in the Dark reimagining has been delayed yet again, with another release date set for a few months later into 2024.
The game, which is set to star actors David Harbour and Jodie Comer, was originally set to release on October 25, 2023 before it was delayed to January 16, 2024. THQ Nordic now says that the game will be released on March 20, 2024, an additional two month delay.
According to a statement from THQ Nordic, the reason for the delay stems from the well-being of developer Pieces Interactive being a top priority.

“Furthermore, THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive want to ensure that the game not only meets but exceeds the expectations of the community, especially with the outstanding performances of Hollywood stars David and Jodie as the main protagonists,” reads the statement.
Alone in the Dark is a reimagining of the 1992 game that was developed by Infrogrames. In that game, players had to solve puzzles in order to escape from a haunted mansion. The game is often heralded as one of the best video games ever made, and is cited as being one of the first 3D survival horror games in the genre.
The story sees them travel to Derceto Manor, a home for the mentally fatigued, to investigate the disappearance of Emily’s uncle, Jeremy Hartwood. Once there, it’s apparent strange otherworldly forces are lurking in the shadows of the Manor.
