Announced at Minecraft Live, Minecraft’s Star Wars: Path of the Jedi DLC is on its way to PC and consoles. Launching next month, the add-on sees players embark on an epic adventure based on the legendary film franchise.
Star Wars: Path of the Jedi Minecraft DLC is coming soon
Star Wars: Path of the Jedi releases November 7th for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. Mojang Studios and Xbox Game Studios announced the DLC with a trailer during the recent Minecraft Live event. The Minecraft narrative DLC puts players in the shoes of a young Jedi Padawan. Amid the Clone Wars, the player’s custom protagonist accompanies Master Yoda on an important mission to an uncharted world. Their quest will also take players to familiar places like the Republic capital of Coruscant and the cloning facilities on Kamino.
Players will face vicious alien creatures and battle legendary foes like General Grievous. They will also interact with legendary Star Wars characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu. Other features include players assembling their own lightsaber and building a custom droid companion. Path of the Jedi also features extensive character customization options, letting players choose from various alien races.
The trailer is short but gives the player a good idea of what this DLC is going for. This includes cuboid planets alongside blocky recreations of the Jedi Temple and other iconic Star Wars locations. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the trailer gives off a similar energy to the Lego Star Wars games. Also, while Minecraft is still primarily a sandbox crafting game, Dungeons and Story Mode shows it can succeed in other genres. Hopefully, fans of both franchises can find something to like in Minecraft’s Star Wars: Path of the Jedi DLC.
