No game based on the Evil Dead series would be complete without nods towards Army of Darkness. Publisher Saber Interactive and developer Boss Team Games already covered this with the game’s roster, but they’re going one step further with Evil Dead: The Game‘s first free DLC update. Castle Kandar is a setting straight from the film that’s coming later in the summer, and the game’s official Twitter account offered a sneak peek at the map via two in-game screenshots.

The screenshots show an appropriately medieval setting, capturing the main setting of Sami Rami’s 1992 film. There’s no word on if the map’s objectives would shift to something thematically appropriate, or if such an upgrade might be saved for a later DLC release. The game’s Twitter account had previously revealed concept art of this new map, but nothing in the actual game.
All right, you primitive screw-heads, feast your eyes on the first in-game sneak peek at Castle Kandar!

Evil Dead: The Game is a game in the vein of Dead by Daylight, teaming four mortals against one horror summoned by the Necronomicon. The game already has four different versions of Ash Williams in its playable roster, but the developers promise that the upcoming Army of Darkness update may be more than just a free map.

Evil Dead: The Game was released on May 13 of this year to mixed reviews. While some reviewers found the main gameplay compelling despite rough edges, others found the repetition inherent in the multiplayer action to be overwhelming. The game is available now on PC and two generations of Xbox and PlayStation, so any would-be Deadite slayers can see for themselves.
